Collage: Selected Work
Kai considers collaging a necessary and radical practice for reimagining the Black feminine form. Kai creates these forms in her practice through sculptures and works on paper. These visual oddities are what she considers hopeful abstractions. The combining of material, whether thread, mechanical components, or the figure. Kai works to expand the history of material storytelling while giving autonomy to Black bodies and histories.
